Allan S. Apple

Allan Shepherd Apple, 65, of Harrisburg, died Saturday at The
Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg.
He attended Chisuk Emuna and was formerly in the Pennsylvania
National Guard.
He worked throughout the country as a bartender and was at one
time the co-proprietor of The Apple and the Frenchman, a local
restaurant and bar.
A superb athlete, he loved all sports. He was passionate about
music and was a talented writer and poet.
He is the grandson of Sam and Bertha Harris and Lena and Joseph
Apple, formerly of Shenandoah. He is survived by his mother,
Bessie Klitzner, Shenandoah; a sister and brother-in-law, Janice
Apple Malett and Jerry Malett, Larchmont, N.Y.; two nieces and a
nephew; grandnieces and nephews; and a son, Jeffrey.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Chisuk Emuna Chapel and
interment followed in the Kehillat Israel Cemetery, Shenandoah.
Shiva will be observed from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 8
p.m. Wednesday at The Jewish Home. The family requests donations
be made to The Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg, 4000
Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112 or to Chisuk Emuna, Fifth
Street and Division, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Hetrick Funeral Home
