Don wrote, "Here are a few photos of Club Sinop. I went into the Army in May of 1959 and got to Sinop around Feb. of 1960. In late summer, three of us from "the hill" went to Adana and then onto Pakistan. I was at Sinop in 1960. I was a 204 (?) and worked in Ops B. The Ops B OIC was a LT name Stevenson. In mid '60 I went to Adana to fly in the A3Ds. The 058 or 059 that went with me was named Starenchech (?). I spent a lot of time in the EM club. ..........A few of the guys I drank with on the hill were Larry George and Abrams.
I remember an incident when some GI stole the money from the show shine guy. The base CO was a Major, with a name like Rintoul. He did a search found the guy and the money. He had dropped it in one of the outhouses. When they saw the money the Major had the thief lowered into the pit and when he was close, they dropped him.
I lived in what we called a Jameway hut. Four of us to a hut. They were canvas and your clothes hung over your bunk. Remember being on guard duty until enough "yenis" arrived to bounce you out to your regular job.I remember taking R&R in Ankara. Made it to the class 6 store so we could spend this months and last months chits on booze. Booze was a major part of my life. Guess it was for all of us. Nice to think back to when we were young and dumb.

. . . (One time) "we bombed the hill". When we were flying out over the Black sea one day I could see the hill. On the next mission, I brought some toilet paper rolls with me and the pilot got pretty low over the hill and we tossed out the TP . . .
